Three tips to make sure you get the most out of a billboard ad
Billboard ads are a classic piece of marketing and can sometimes be overlooked. But hey, they’re still very effective…. if you use them right! Here are three tips to keep in mind when designing your next billboard, so you can be sure that you’re not wasting an opportunity.
- Simplicity! Yes, there’s technically a lot of room on that large billboard ad… BUT! Keep your message simple. Include a logo that people will connect with your brand and don’t complicate things by adding too much additional content. Instructions are a great simple add if you can keep them brief.
- Font – keep it very clear. Stay away from calligraphy and cursive or anything too busy on a billboard ad. You have about 3 seconds of someone’s attention while they’re driving past, so make sure people can read it in a snap.
- Use primary colours – or, at least, not too many colours. And again, keep it simple! (Are you noticing a theme here?) Keep it bold. Vibrant. It needs to stand out without being too busy – that’s key for great billboard ads.
